Tiger Woods took just six holes to erase a one-stroke deficit and regain the lead midway through the second round of the Target World Challenge.  He leads by two shots after nine holes having trailed first round leader Jim Furyk.

Woods made birdies on the second and fifth holes to catch his fellow American, who was level par over his first nine holes.

The world number one took the lead when he nearly holed out on the sixth, when his approach shot hit in front of the cup went past it and then spun back to six inches.

Another birdie at the ninth gave Woods a four-under-par 32 outward nine - taking him to six under for the tournament - and a two-stroke lead ahead of Furyk, Zach Johnson and Padraig Harrington.

Johnson was level with Woods and Henrik Stenson at the beginning of the day at three under and got to five under after his second birdie on at the fifth.
