TIGER WOODS came under fire for his spitting again yesterday as he wasted a chance to end nearly 15 months without a victory.
One off the lead entering the final round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the former world number one dropped to joint 20th with a 75 rounded off with a double-bogey seven on the final hole.
But it was on the 12th green that Sky Sports commentator Ewen Murray was disgusted by Woods’s behaviour – just as he had been on Friday.
After missing a par putt the American spat just a few feet from the hole and Murray said: “You look at his work ethic and he is a credit to the game and an inspiration to all of those who are trying to become professional golfers.
“But there are some parts of him that are just arrogant and petulant.
“Somebody now has to come behind him and maybe putt over his spit. It does not get much lower than that.”
Murray, who expects Woods to be fined by the European Tour for what he did, had called his spitting on a tee during the second round “one of the ugliest things you will ever see on a golf course”.
Woods played his final round with Sergio Garcia, who four years ago caused outrage by spitting into a hole during a world championship event.

YANI TSENG ascended to number one in the world as she finished with final round of four-under par 68 to win the ANZ RACV Ladies Masters yesterday.
The 22-year-old finished 24-under overall, four shots clear of Australian Nikki Campbell and American Stacy Lewis.
Campbell used a closing round of 64 to shoot up the leaderboard on the final day.
Tseng’s effort sees her overhaul Korean Jiyai Shin at the top.
