Tiger Woods is set to make a competitive return to Irish soil in 2010 after it was confirmed today that the world number one would again tee it up in the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am at Adare Manor. Woods won the event back in 2000 at Limerick Golf Club after taking up an invite from keen golfer McManus, who he has developed a good friendship with over the years.
McManus' event is held every five years and has raised over €55 million for charity to date. The event will take place on July 5th and 6th in 2010, with a prize fund of €1 million.
Woods has been out of action since winning the US Open at Torrey Pines and has undergone reconstructive surgery on his left knee. He is not expected to return to serious action until next April's US Masters at Augusta.
