Under-19 / Ireland 14 Wales 34: A highly-organised Wales posted four tries in a comprehensive win at a bitterly cold Musgrave Park last night.
Adopting an open game similar to their senior side, Wales ran a ragged Ireland all over the park, and only for some fine defending, particularly in the opening half, the result could have been even more cruel.
Wales, having threatened the line at various stages inside the first quarter, had a penalty converted by Ricky Williams in the 29th minute.
Four minutes later good hands from the dynamic half-back duo David Walsh and Aled Thomas set up prop Nathan Trevett for their opening try.
After the break Wales got further tries from Tom Riley - after an interception - David Walsh and Ricky Williams.
The home side did finish with style through a Gary Byrne try before the end.
