Cavan-based sports tech start-up ClubSpot is investing €250,000 in Irish sports through the creation of a free club-branded mobile app and one-year subscription for the winners of each county’s senior championships in ladies’ and men’s football, hurling and camogie.

The deal will see clubs get custom mobile apps and a one-year subscription to club management systems, offering them a way to promote engagement with their members and grow participation. The app provides clubs with membership management, event announcements, online fundraising and a GDPR-compliant messaging system.

“ClubSpot are delighted to announce this investment in grassroots GAA sports by offering a free custom club app for county champions,” said ClubSpot founder John Hyland. “We are proud to provide clubs across the country with the opportunity to benefit from our product, which helps to reduce the workload placed on club administrators, while also increasing a club’s recurring revenues and memberships.”

County champions can avail of the offer by visiting ClubSpot’s website, or by contacting the company via email.

Established by Mr Hyland in April 2019, ClubSpot has developed a cloud-based management system that reduces the administrative burden on volunteer-run clubs by putting key tasks such as membership, communications, fundraising and accounting all in one place.

It has previously partnered with and provided custom apps to rugby, soccer and basketball clubs across the country.
