Apple’s new iPad Pro caused a bit of a stir when the company unveiled a new version of its premium tablet. It was not entirely unexpected; Apple usually updates its iPad line in October. But there was no big reveal for the updated Pro, with Apple opting to announce it via press release and an Apple Store update online. The 2022 version may look fairly similar to its predecessor, but it comes with one important difference: the new M2 chip that makes the iPad Pro even more powerful and capable of running some power-hungry applications. Apple has pitched the iPad Pro as a laptop killer; the M2 chip may edge that even closer.

The new device, which still comes in 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, also supports faster wifi connections such as wifi 6E.
