A 12-year-old girl has been charged with manslaughter over the death of an 80-year-old man who died in hospital after being injured in a Leicestershire park in September.
Bhim Kohli died on September 2nd after an incident in a park in Braunstone Town, outside Leicester, the previous evening, when he was allegedly attacked while walking his dog 20 metres from his home.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with manslaughter and is due to appear on Monday at Leicester youth court, sitting at Leicester magistrates court.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Kohli, and he is due to appear at Leicester crown court later this week. He is expected to face trial next year.

Four other children – a girl aged 14, and one boy and two girls aged 12 – were arrested in September on suspicion of murder, but were released with no further action.
An inquest opened and adjourned last month was told a postmortem showed Kohli died of a neck injury, pending further tests.
Kohli’s family said in a statement at the time of his death: “Bhim was a loving husband, dad and grandad. He was also a son, brother and uncle. He adored his grandkids with all his heart and loved spending time with them. He really was such a loving, caring person whose life was centred around his family.
“He has always been a very hardworking man and even at the age of 80 he was still very active. One of his great passions was his allotment, he would go every day to tend to his plots and was so proud of them. He also enjoyed walking the family dog Rocky on the park many times a day. Our hearts have been completely broken.”
Kohli had lived in the same house in the residential suburb south of Leicester city centre for 40 years.
Leicestershire police referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to “prior contact” between officers and Kohli, relating to antisocial behaviour reported in July.
The IOPC later announced that the force would carry out its own investigations, but the case would be re-referred if “further information comes to light which may suggest a link between police actions or inactions and Mr Kohli’s tragic death”. – The Guardian
