This year has seen them gain a lot of airplay for their winsome single, The Girl in the Lavender Dress.

The Cobblestone, 9pm, €12/€8 pipers.ie, January 2nd

Na Píobairí Uilleann presents Session with the Pipers, a monthly recital of traditional music and song. The first session of the new year features a rare Dublin appearance by fiddle and flute duet Maurice Bradley and Ciaran Kelly. Regular MC Noel Pocock with make a special appearance as guest piper and Dublin singer Anne Buckley will debut at the long-running concert series.

Jerry O’Reilly, Fergus Russell, Frank Nugent, Mick Keeley, Antaine Ó Faracháin and Máire Ní Chróinín gather round to welcome the first night of the new season: a club night. A fine way to blow away the post-Christmas blues with a good dose of unaccompanied traditional song in any language. All singers, listeners and visitors welcome.
