Antigen competence

Sir, – Daily I am again frustrated as to why the National Public Health Emergency Team is so set in the belief that the general public is incapable of reliably following the instructions on an antigen test kit.

How can the members of Nphet step confidently into an elevator or use electricity and telephone networks and not ask how these services are provided by the general public.

Did they need instructions, maybe a diagram? What advanced species steer our ambulances through heavy traffic, drive buses, trains and trucks, teach our children while rocking cradles and nurturing our young.

Why do you need a medical degree to follow an antigen test? Surely it’s not as difficult as a Lego kit for age seven or fathoming out an Ikea flatpack or God forbid preparing all the trimmings with a Sunday roast?
