Sir, – Congratulations to The Irish Times and all contributors for publishing this very timely supplement. I feared the Civil War of 1922 into 1923 might again be somewhat forgotten following the extensive and very good coverage of the centenary of the events surrounding the Treaty debates in December and January. This supplement is a great addition to the historical discussion of the Civil War period and its aftermath, as will the UCC conference in June. As a society, we do need to look closely at the complexity of the Civil War period to bookend this decade of centenaries that began in 2013. – Yours, etc,
