A chara, – Your article on the forthcoming RIC memorial service ("RIC commemoration set for London as 'no appetite' in Ireland', September 10th) suggested that "St Paul's Cathedral...is one of only two sites where there are memorials to the RIC... both memorials are in London."
In fact there are several RIC memorials in Ireland including one adjacent to the Garda Museum in Dublin Castle.
It was unveiled in 2010 by then taoiseach Brian Cowen and erected as a tribute to “all deceased members of An Garda Síochána, the Dublin Metropolitan Police and Royal Irish Constabulary”.
