Sir, – Bill Roe (February 4th) may be pleased to know that he is not the only person who hates to see horses being whipped to win. Deliberately inflicting pain or terror on defenceless creatures for any reason, and especially in the name of “sport”, as in hare coursing, is both barbaric and sadistic, in my opinion. – Yours, etc,
