Sir, – Michael Jansen’s assertion that US funds cannot go to Gaza because “the Palestinian Authority pays pensions to the families of Palestinians killed, wounded and jailed by Israel” is misleading (World News, August 28th).
She neglects to mention both the US’s Taylor Force Act which prohibits payments to terrorist organisations as well as the PA’s morally reprehensible policy which provides such pensions – the more heinous the crime, the higher the payment – to convicted prisoners and to the families of Palestinian “martyrs” who have Israeli blood on their hands. – Yours, etc,
