Two French wines for under €10 worth seeking out

Wines for the Weekend: a Provence rosé and a rounded red from Medoc

Two to try: two French wines from Lidl

Two French wines from Lidl this week, both priced at just under €10. Provence rosé has been very fashionable for a few years now. The wines are pale, crisp and dry with red summer fruits. There are plenty of other rosé wines though, and not just from France, but today I feature one from Provence.

The Médoc is one of the most famous parts of Bordeaux, containing some of the most prestigious wine names of all. I cannot pretend that the Médoc below compares with Château Lafite or Latour, but it is a pleasant rounded fruity red wine.

Les Cinq Rameau 2021 Coteaux d’Aix en Provence Rosé

Crisp and refreshing with bright raspberry and redcurrant fruits. Sip as an aperitif or with summer salads. 12.5% abv, €9.99.
