Donegal passport

Sir, – You herald Dublin Airport's plan to handle more passengers (News, September 7th). On arrival from Donegal Airport yesterday morning, I produced my boarding card at the desk. The immigration officer demanded production of my passport, and when challenged, stated that she was obliged to protect our borders! Why is there no domestic channels for passengers travelling within Ireland? Perhaps our immigration officials need a geography lesson to remind them that we in Donegal are part of the State and do not require a passport to travel therein! When will Dublin Airport stop this petty discourtesy to passengers from Carrickfinn and spend a few euro on a domestic channel? – Yours, etc,

BRENDAN TWOMEY,

Dunfanaghy,

Co Donegal.
