Economics and unionism

Sir, – Denis Bradley ("How do you solve a problem like unionism?", Opinion & Analysis, February 21st) quotes a businessman who describes the economic wasteland west of a line drawn south from Coleraine. He cites the location of two airports and two universities on one side of the line. He might have added that almost the entire motorway system in Northern Ireland, running north and south of Lough Neagh, lies east of the line. What hope for the economic wasteland without accessibility? – Yours, etc,

PADDY SWEETMAN,

Dún Laoghaire,

Co Dublin.
