Sir, – I open all brown envelopes from government departments with some trepidation, but yesterday’s was a delight to receive. It contained my public services card, which I last used three days ago. I hadn’t needed it since, and had no idea I had lost it. It only took from Tuesday afternoon until Friday morning for the thoughtful and generous finder to send it to the Department of Social Protection in Carrick on Shannon, and for an official there to put it straight into the post back to me in Dublin. When people are kind and systems work, I am very grateful. – Yours, etc,
DOIREANN NÍ BHRIAIN,
Rathmines,
